Velocity Cars Vancouver

This may not be so interesting for the locals. However being that I am from the states and this is not a very common thing. In fact, it is not common at all to find dealers like this in New York. Of course, you'll see the usual Skyline, Pulsar or some RHD Honda roaming the streets. If you're lucky. Canada, unlike the United States, has the upper hand when it comes to imports. The rule to import Japanese cars, "jdm", or RHD (right-hand drive) however you want to call it, is that they need to be 15 years old to the month they were manufactured in order to be eligible for import. Whereas in the U.S they need to be at least 25 years old!

Why is this such a big deal? Well, imagine purchasing a Nissan Skyline R33 for less than $4,500 USD! Yes! $4,500 USD. In CAD that's about $5,900. This does not include any taxes or fees and this does not include any delivery fees as well. But the point remains, that is super cheap! considering the average price for an R33 in the states is going between 12-26,000$ depending on the trim and upgrades it has.

WHAT DO I GET FOR $4,500 USD?:

Good question, and I'm sure you know you're not getting a GT-R trim with an RB25/26 Turbo and the whole shebang.

The listing I found was for a 1996 Nissan Skyline R33 Coupe. It has a 2.0L engine, Automatic Transmission and has about 96,000KM. BUT it's still a skyline... I mean cmon that's nearly the price of the average early 2000's civic in the states.

Velocity cars have quite a selection on their lot and I personally went to check them out because I'm considering a purchase from them in the near future once I've settled in here in Vancouver, BC. To date my favorite finds have been:

FAVORITE FINDS (CAD$):
1996 Nissan Skyline R33 - $5890
1990 Nissan Micra Pao - $8890
2000 Nissan Silvia Spec R - $11990
1999 Nissan Skyline 25 GTT R34 - $8990
2000 Subaru Legacy B4 RSK TT -$5490
1987 Toyota Corolla Levin GT ( import to USA ) - $19,990
1994 Toyota Supra RZ - $20,890
1999 Mitsubishi Evolution 6 GSR - $12,890

These guys are definitely worth a check if you're looking to import to the states or buy locally if you're in Metro Vancouver, BC area. Check out their website here > Velocity Cars
